Shortlisted candidates will then need to appear in the following rounds:

  • Written Analytical test (WAT) - This test evaluates different aspects of the candidate. With a range of questions, from case-based to analytical problems, the test provides a complete assessment of the candidate's abilities. The time allotted is 20 minutes.

NMAT Selection Process – Written Ability test

  • The Written Ability Test (WAT) requires candidates to write an essay on a topic within a recommended word limit. This test assesses the candidate's writing skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • The essay is evaluated based on grammar, language usage, vocabulary, and clarity of thought.
  • It's essential to remember that not all business schools require the Written Ability Test (WAT). However, for those who do, it's crucial to ensure that the essay is:
    1. grammatically correct
    2. rich in vocabulary
    3. relevant facts and figures (preferred)

NMAT Selection Process – Group Discussion Round

  • In this round, 9-10 candidates are given a topic to discuss for a set duration.
  • This round assesses your communication skills, confidence, flexibility in accommodating different perspectives, and knowledge of various topics. The examiner wants to gauge your ability to express yourself clearly and your openness to other people's ideas.
