Steps involved in the allocation of the Judge's position in Himachal Pradesh

If we talk about the selection and allocation process of judges in Himachal Pradesh. Then we can say that it is purely a basic merit process, and they make the appointments according to how you perform in the examination. The allocation process is relatively lengthy and has been divided into 3 Segments. Pre, Mains, and Interview. In the Preliminary Examination, you have to face an MCQ question based on civil and Criminal Codes, which carries 300 marks.

The next stage follows the Main Examination, where you must write 5 papers, Including Hindi and English, alongside legal sections. This paper is going to be descriptive and calls for excellent writing abilities. It will carry 850 marks in total. Now, if you qualify for this stage, too, you will be able to land in the interview round, which will finally decide your appointment. 

Also, this allocation of seats will be done based on the aggregate score acquired by you on all three stages of the examination.

Qualifying Score for PCS J Himachal Pradesh 2023

• You need to score more than 45% of the total score in your interview; only then will you be able to receive your appointment letter. 
• For Qualifying for the Pre and the Mains, you need to achieve at least 40% of the total score (in the legal studies section), While for the language, you will need to acquire a minimum of 33% minimum. 
• In the Descriptive paper, you have to achieve around 45% minimum to make your marks in the list of qualifying candidates. 

Notes: These are the minimum recommended parameters you need to achieve to get selected as a Civil Judge in Himachal Pradesh. However, we suggest you strive for a higher score as the vacancies are low, and the candidature is relatively high in this respect.

What must you do after PCS J pre-results? 

Once you finish the Preliminary Exams, you must start investing in your Mains preparation without wasting a single moment. Given that as soon as the HPPSC publishes the Prelims result, the Mains are likely to be conducted within 4-5 months of publication. Hence it would be best if you prepared for the Mains.
