Last Date to Modify CLAT Test Centres

Candidates appearing for CLAT 2024 can modify the test locations specified in their application form until November 12, 2023, at 11:59 P.M. 

Here are the steps to modify the CLAT test centres:

  1. Login to your CLAT account at the CLAT 2025 website.
  2. Click the 'Edit Application' button.
  3. Navigate to the 'Preferences' tab.
  4. Check your test location preferences and update if required.

Announcement of New CLAT Test Centres

A notice has been issued to inform that two additional cities, namely (i) Diu (UT of DNH & DD) and (ii) Silvassa (UT of DNH & DD), have been included as new Test Centers for CLAT 2024.

Candidates interested in selecting these cities as their CLAT test centers should adhere to the following instructions:

  • Log in to your CLAT account.
  • Select the 'Edit Application' button.
  • Navigate to the 'Test Centre Preferences' tab.
  • Adjust the three test centre preferences according to your choice.
  • Proceed by clicking the ‘Next (>)’ button to reach the ‘Reservation’ tab.
  • Scroll down, agree to the declaration, and click the ‘Submit Form’ button.

Last Date to Apply for CLAT 2025

In a recent development, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) has announced an extension of the deadline for submitting online applications for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024.

The last date for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) CLAT 2024 applications has been moved to Friday, November 10, 2023, with the closing time set at 11:59 P.M.

This extension provides aspiring law students with additional time to complete and submit their applications.

DU Admissions 2023 for BA LLB/BBA LLB Now Open, CLAT Scores Required

DU Admissions 2023 for BA LLB/BBA LLB is now open at law.uod.ac.in. Check the CLAT Eligibility criteria.

A minimum of 45% is required for Open, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories and 40% for SC, ST, and PwBD categories. CLAT 2023 clearance is mandatory for program admission.

Course fees for a 5-year LLB are Rs 1.9 lakh. Students with less than Rs 4 lakh family income receive a 90% fee waiver

DU LLB Registration Process:

1. Enter a valid email address, mobile number, and name (as per CLAT scorecard 2023).

Supreme Court Upholds CLAT Scores for DU Law Admissions

The Supreme Court has upheld the Delhi High Court's order allowing Delhi University to admit students to its five-year integrated law courses for the academic year 2023-24 based on CLAT-UG 2023 scores.

The decision considered the ongoing academic year and classes that had already commenced.

The Supreme Court bench, led by CJI DY Chandrachud, stated that it was an interlocutory order and could not be interfered with, and the matter would be considered further for the next academic year.

Concerns were raised about whether admissions should be based solely on the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) and whether Central universities could admit students through other specialized agency examinations.

For the current academic year, DU can admit students based on CLAT UG result 2023, as classes have already started.

Consortium Introduces New Provisions for Persons with Disabilities

The latest guidelines for the CLAT 2025 have been unveiled, catering specifically to candidates with benchmark disabilities. The notification highlights key amendments:

  1. Extended Duration: Persons with benchmark disability will now receive an extra 40 minutes, making their total exam time 2 hours and 40 minutes.
  2. Documentary Proof: Candidates seeking compensatory time should have their original Disability Certificate handy during the exam day.
  3. Scribe Assistance Available: Candidates with a benchmark disability (over 40%) in blindness, locomotor disability, and cerebral palsy can request a scribe/reader. However, scribes come with specific stipulations:
  • For UG CLAT, the scribe should be below 12th grade and not associated with any test preparation entity.
  • For CLAT PG, the scribe should not be a law student or past the 12th grade, with no affiliations to coaching centers or test-prep organizations.

However, you must fill the appendix 1 and 2 in the below-mentioned format:

1. This is to certify that, we have examined Mr/Ms/Mrs …………. (name of the candidate), S/o /D/o ……………………, a resident of ………………(Vill/PO/PS/District/State), aged …………….. yrs, a person with ……………………. (nature of disability/condition), and to state that he/she has a limitation which hampers his/her writing capability owing to his/her above condition. 2. The above candidate uses aids and assistive devices such as prosthetics & orthotics, hearing aid (name to be specified), which is /are essential for the candidate to appear at the examination with the assistance of a scribe.
3. This certificate is issued only for the purpose of appearing in written examinations conducted by recruitment agencies as well as academic institutions and is valid upto __________ (it is valid for maximum period of six months or less as may be certified by the medical authority)

CLAT in Hindi? Delhi HC Mulls Linguistic Change for Level Playing Field.

In a surprising development, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice seeking insights from law universities on the feasibility of conducting the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in Hindi and regional languages.

This pivotal move comes after Sudhanshu Pathak, a Delhi University law student, filed a plea pointing out the unequal footing students from non-English medium schools face.

Although the decision is not final, the committee will work on creating a framework to include Hindi as a medium of the CLAT paper. Their findings will be presented in a report soon.

In a recent meeting on May 20, 2023, the Consortium of National Law Universities announced significant adjustments to the format of the CLAT 2024 exam for undergraduate admissions. This change is fully committed to making CLAT 2024 more student-centric.

Notably, candidates will now face 120 questions instead of the prior 150 within the same 2-hour timeframe. This test will be divided into five sections - English Language, Current Affairs Including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

CLAT in Hindi? Delhi HC Mulls Linguistic Change for Level Playing Field.

In a surprising development, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice seeking insights from law universities on the feasibility of conducting the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in Hindi and regional languages.

This pivotal move comes after Sudhanshu Pathak, a Delhi University law student, filed a plea pointing out the unequal footing students from non-English medium schools face.

Although the decision is not final, the committee will work on creating a framework to include Hindi as a medium of the CLAT paper. Their findings will be presented in a report soon.

CLAT 2024 Undergoes Significant Format Changes on July 15, 2023

In a recent meeting on May 20, 2023, the Consortium of National Law Universities announced significant adjustments to the format of the CLAT 2024 exam for undergraduate admissions. This change is fully committed to making CLAT 2024 more student-centric.

Notably, candidates will now face 120 questions instead of the prior 150 within the same 2-hour timeframe. This test will be divided into five sections - English Language, Current Affairs Including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.
