AILET BA LLB Criteria 2025

Prospective candidates seeking admission into law undergraduate courses must diligently acquaint themselves with the AILET LLB eligibility criteria mentioned below before applying.

AILET BA LLB Qualifying Marks 2025

• As per the AILET 2025 eligibility criteria, you must have secured at least  45% marks in class 12 or equivalent exams if you belong to the general category.
• If you belong to the SC/ST/PwD category, you must have scored a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

AILET BA LLB Educational Qualification 2025

If you belong to the general category, you must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination, securing less than 45% of the total marks in the aggregate. 

• To apply for the AILET Entrance Exam 2025, those belonging to SC/ST/PwD must have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
• You can apply if you appear for class 12 or an equivalent exam in the current year. However, you will become eligible for admission to the BA LLB program only if you pass the qualifying examination with minimum qualifying marks.
• The eligibility condition for admission of students under the Foreign Nationals category shall be 65% marks in the Higher Secondary School Examination of (10+2) system or an equivalent examination.

Note: Foreign National students are exempted from taking the admission test. 

AILET BA LLB Age Limit 2025

According to the AILET eligibility criteria, undergraduate programs have no maximum or minimum age limit.

AILET BA LLB Reservation Criteria 

123 seats are available for the National Law University, Delhi BA LLB program. Of these 123 seats, 10 are reserved for Foreign Nationals for direct admission into the five-year degree course.

Of the remaining 113 seats, 15% are reserved for the SC category, 7.5% for the ST category, and 3% for persons with disabilities.

• The unfulfilled seats reserved for the SC category shall be assigned to the ST category and vice-versa. However, if the seats are still vacant, they will be filled by the general category.
• Besides, 30% of seats should be filled by eligible horizontal reservations for women, including categories from foreign national and reserved quotas.
• The selected students will be given preference in order of merit in each category. 
• Additionally, one extra seat is reserved for Kashmiri migrants, who must sit in the entrance examination and fulfil the eligibility criteria to procure admission.

AILET LLM Eligibility Criteria 2025

Those looking to appear in the AILET LLM Exam 2025 must know the eligibility criteria carefully before proceeding with the application process.

Age Limit 2025

• According to the AILET LLM Eligibility Criteria, there is no maximum or minimum age limit to apply for the LLM program, meaning those of any age group can apply for the LLM program.

Educational Qualification 2025

• To be eligible to appear for admission to the LLM program, you should have passed LLB or an equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• If you are appearing for the qualifying examination in 2024 or waiting for results, you can apply for the entrance test.
•  However, to become eligible for admission, you must have completed your graduation with minimum qualifying marks at the time of AILET Counselling 2025.

Note:  Those placed in the compartment in the year of admission are not eligible for the LLM program even if they clear AILET.

AILET Qualifying Marks 2025

• If you belong to the general category, you must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in an LLB or equivalent degree program.
• Those in the SC/ST/ PwD category must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

AILET LLM Reservation Criteria 

• In 2023, the total number of seats in the AILET LLM course was 81, of which 15% were reserved for the SC category, 7.5% for the ST category, and 2.5% for persons with disability categories.
• Five seats were allotted to foreign national students having citizenship from any country other than India.
• Besides, the seats left empty in the foreign national category were filled with the general category students based on merit.

Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Foreign Nationals Through AILET

Suppose you are studying in a foreign country and willing to apply for the All India Law Entrance Test. In that case, you need to make sure to meet the AILET Exam Eligibility criteria given in the table below:

B.A LLB	You must have obtained a score of 65% marks in a higher secondary school examination or an equivalent examination.
LLM	To be eligible, you need to have a good academic record in LL.B. or an equivalent degree recognized by the UGC or Association of Indian Universities. You should have obtained at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in your degree.
	NLU will also assess your written and spoken English communication skills and performance in the interview based on capacity and aptitude.

As per the previous year's notification, 9 seats were offered for Indian nationals through the AILET exam for the PhD program, while 2 were for foreign nationals.

• You must have completed a Master's degree in law or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master's degree in law by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade 'B' on the UGC 7-point scale. (Or)
• You must obtain a law degree and a Master's Degree in social sciences or humanities from any recognized Indian university or a foreign educational institution accredited by UGC Regulations, with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade 'B' on the UGC 7-point scale. (Or)
• I completed a law degree and passed the Company Secretary examination conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and I was awarded Associate Membership of the Institute. (Or)
• You must obtain a law degree and pass the final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. (Or)
• Judge of any State High Court in India with three years experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India.
